Votsi
One of the most picturesque beaches in Alonissos

It is located in one of the most beautiful fishing villages of the Northern Sporades in a place that has preserved its quiet profile, which combines green landscape and blue waters, being ideal for those who seek relaxation and tranquility.

Of course, the beach takes its name from the beautiful fishing village it is part of, which in turn echoes the Hydraian rear admiral Nikolaos Votsi.

The latter was among the great distinguished during the First Balkan War (1912-1913) and passed through Alonissos in 1913, visiting the area of the current settlement.

A picturesque port

Votsi is amphitheatrically built at a very low altitude (only 16 meters), right above one of the most picturesque bays in Alonissos, which is surrounded by abundant greenery. It is an island fishing village that is considered one of the most beautiful in the Northern Sporades.

It maintains its original character, still functioning as a natural port with a fishing identity, in the summer there are several anchored boats, formed in the surrounding rocks, which have the color of ocher.

The beach of the village, now, is located near the picturesque port and is a small stretch of coast with pebbles and crystal clear, blue-green waters.

How will you get to Votsi?

Being just 1.5 kilometers from Patitiri (the capital of the island), Votsi is very easily accessible from the main port of Alonissos, located to the north of it.

For hiking lovers, in fact, there is the possibility to reach Spartines, which are considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Alonissos with gray pebbles and turquoise waters.

They are only 0.5 km away and you will also see relevant guidance signs to Votsi, estimating that you will arrive within 15 minutes, after an easy walk (as long as you have the right shoes with you).

Note also that it is an unorganized beach, sometimes preferred by some nudists, due to the fact that it avoids crowds, even in the peak of the summer season.
